This passive-cooled board based on the Intel XScale® ARM® PXA255 processor is mainly used as a network component like a firewall, IP router, H323 router, switch, NAT, etc. In such cases, where top performance is not required, the board is delivered without the AC'97 audio interface, what leads to purchase price reduction. It is often used for the data collection from various systems through serial line, its processing and further transmission via the Internet. For more challenging tasks where more powerful CPU and larger memory storage is required, customers are advised to use the Pro version of the board. The board contains two network interfaces, one for the network connection and the other one for connecting to the PC. Upon request, the board is supplied in a stylish aluminum case. For an outdoor applications, PXA255 microPC Board is available also in the Industrial temperature range.
