  Intel XScale® PXA255 DIMM PC / Development kit has been designed for

  running highly efficient modern embedded network or stand alone

  applications. It contains all of the important interfaces and is delivered with

  preinstalled LINUX OS. Other OS available form third parties.

  The power consumption is just a fraction of the standard PC, making the

  embedded system an ideal candidate for mass applications. As the most  

  demanding parts of the system are located on the module itself, using

  Voipac DIMM Module for your own application significantly boosts

  reliability and cuts time-to-market of your own embedded device.

 

  For mass applications, complete DIMM PC can be delivered in a variety of  

  configurations, which may differ in procesor frequency, SDRAM and FLASH

  size and amount of peripheries.

  CPU, Audio, SDRAM and FLASH memory are located on the 144pin, so

  called DIMM module (identical with standard SODIMM memory module)

  what allows customers to easily interchange DIMM modules thus adjusting   

  processor frequency or memories size, without the necessity of altering

  the DIMM Base Board, or customized base board in any way.

 

  As the board communication interface, RS232 connector is used. To work

  with on-board software easily and effectively, use terminal station. You may  

  also use SSH network protocol. Your own applications can be either stored

  in the DIMM Module on-board FLASH memory or to the external Compact

  FLASH card.
