In fall 2004, we have started development of a multimedia navigation system for the automotive market. The work realized by our company has included - an analysis and selection of an appropriate platform, selection of single peripheries and components of the system, design and schematics proposal, PCB layout design, selection of an appropriate housing, selection and design of the operation system, development of single software applications, design and development of the GUI, testing and debugging of all the components of the device.

After a few-weeks-analysis of appropriate platforms for the given device, we have decided to select a chipset solution from VIA. This platform satisfies all the requirements to the performance, speed of the HW a SW development, dimensional requirements and maximum heat emission of the main chips. Also the costs of single components of the developed device were below the acceptable level.
