Assignment: One of our clients – VoIP operator, requested development of simple client/server application, that would allow for fast and effective measurement of IP network quality from the point of view of its possible usage for VoIP services transfer. Application was supposed to work in OS Windows and to be user intuitive and simply manageable.
Solution: The whole project has been realized within 3 months, while we incorporated all the requirements advised by client for the given application. Application allows simple testing of IP network quality in the given place in the network (installed SW LQM client) up to the server where the LQM Server is located. LQM client via the series of build in and sent packets measure the required parameters: loose rate, delay and permissibleness of the network. The measured information if consequently displayed in graphical form. This way, the user can simply find out, what are the specific parameters of one's IP connection and whether is it suitable for VoIP services, possibly, how many voice canals one's IP connection is able to transfer and in what quality.
