Mobile Gas Station
Assignment:
The project's target was to develop electronic
managing board with the user GUI for a mobile, vandal-proof gas
station. User interface included special full color display and
managing buttons. Linux 2.4.19 was chosen to be used as an
operational system. The base board was required to support removable
memory medium – Compact Flash card. Further required base board
interfaces were: CAN and RS485 - for communication with other
devices in the gas station, GSM/GPRS modem – necessary for online
communication with the central office, GPS – for the gas station
positioning, LAN network and RS232 – necessary for debugging and
system setting, and an audio system with amplifier for voice
communication with the customer. The device was to be powered from a
12V power source.
Solution:
VOIPAC company gained the necessary
documentation specifying the requirements from the orderer, block
design and simple schematics. After the consultation with the client
we reached compromise in the area of block design. This design has
been used as a base for the schematics generation and PCB design
proposal. The embedding and activation of the board began two months
after the project beginning in cooperation with the HW and SW
engineers.
It has been necessary to develop new drivers
for the part of peripheries
and test the functionality of the whole board.
The new device and all the relevant work has been documented,
together with two functional prototypes of the device and production
documentation within the planned deadline of three months and has
been delivered to the client.
