The iMX8M Industrial Development Kit was extensively reviewed by a well-known CNX Software portal, which has been a source of reliable information covering embedded systems for many years. In the first part of the series of very honest articles, the author's first impressions are being described, the kit specification, packaging and content revealed as well as the initial boot shown. The second post focuses more on the Yocto package and different booting options the development kit offers.

In the concluding article the tested development kit was handed out to the embedded community. Within two days, more than one hundred engineers and enthusiasts from all over the world had expressed their interest in the kit and responded with positive remarks and comments.
